It is a principal hard-rock source of lithium and occurs most importantly in lithium-rich granitic pegmatites, particularly LCT pegmatites. Its coarse-grained occurrence can support physical concentration before downstream processing to recover lithium for batteries, ceramics, glass, and other applications.
